one of the characters on pylo just so happened to have been born on halloween and she likes to celebrate with style. so, for halloween she is holding a male auction, a little karaoke and it is bound to be a lot of fun. a chunk of our male characters are up for the auction block, proceeds (some of) going to charity and costume claims are soon to go up.

First off…three cheers on PYLO getting through it’s first couple of weeks…we’ve managed to pull in some great members with many more to come. In the interest of giving everyone a chance to get to know each other and allow their sometimes disparate characters to interact in a fun setting we’re going to hold the first board wide mini-event. In the next day or so we’ll open up a forum for all threads to take place during the Annual King’s Harbor Memorial Day Beach Blow-out…because when it comes to opening up tourist season on Cape Cod not even a rampaging serial killer and a bunch of unsolved missing persons can keep festivities down. Local businesses have little beach side stalls with bbq’d goodies, local bands play and everyone gets to enjoy the bonfire and fireworks that end off the night.
The event will open up on Monday June 6th so that gives everyone time to decide what characters they would like to bring in since it’s not mandatory that you participate. Though come on…it’s fun! We’ll close the event after a week’s worth of posting (though if things are still jumping we might let it go a bit longer). While the event if going on you are still welcome of course to post in our regular forums but please keep in mind that we don’t want to get too far ahead/behind the timeline for the board. So try to give preference to the event. A a way to keep the posts flowing fast and furious we’re going to suggest keeping your posts between 500-700 words max.
Open threads are highly encouraged as is RPing with people/characters that you haven’t had a chance to interact with in the past. The Admin team will set up threads for the bigger events (BBQ/Bonfire) so keep in mind with these open threads the importance of placing a exits thread when leaving one of those to join another. Other than that our goal with this is to have fun and see how things work out before holding the big event of the summer…the Forth of July picnic/party.
Can’t wait to see you all there!!
well, not advertising everywhere tonight but only to the tumblr folk and those we know off site. so yer, there you go.
thanks iara for expressing interest

thank you for following our roleplay blog. if you have any questions in the mean time about it feel free to send myself an ask or hit up mizmisanthrope

Beautiful, scenic the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts is a tourist haven and getaway for many of the rich and famous in the summer time while the off season has always found the locals struggling to keep afloat until the next summer. King’s Harbor was always just another small town that got smaller when the fishing industry that used to fund everything went under and the canning plant closed down. Today King’s Harbor is famous for a reason other than it’s picturesque lighthouse standing on the bluff overlooking the ocean-the Shoelace Strangler.
A serial killer who stalked the small towns of Cape Cod for almost a decade claiming six lives and shattering families. Taking young women who would be found months later, naked, bleached and with a brightly coloured shoelace tied in a pretty bow around their necks. When the seventh victim disappeared from King’s Harbor a manhunt scoured the area until weeks later when a frightened young girl was found running down Route 6 with a pursuer struck by a passing car. Forensics linked the dead man-Charles Henley the Third to the Strangler cases closing the files and leaving the town of King’s Harbor to pick up the pieces and move on.
Easier said than done for many involved in the horrors that plagued the area for so long when no answers remain as to why one of the prominent Henley family would be the monster behind it all. Just another secret hidden behind the quaint facades and store fronts from the out of towners that flood the Cape as reliably as the storms that follow up in the winter. In the five years that have passed little has changed in King’s Harbor-more people have left town looking for work in the bigger cities, more businesses have closed down thanks to the recession but nothing the locals haven’t weathered before.
Until young girls started going missing again.
Then others. None matching the original victim profile of the deceased Shoelace Strangler…but all bearing his signature colourful bow. Fear for the monsters lurking in their town and under their beds has fallen on the citizens of King’s Harbor as even the town’s Sheriff has joined the ranks of the missing. The FBI has stepped in sending a team to try to track the apparent copy cats…something easier said than done in a town full of people hiding their own share of dark secrets. Worse still the town has become a media sensation as reporter’s speculate about a supposed Strangler tribute occurring attracting those looking to profit or even for the adventure of a murder mystery. All that the good folk of King’s Harbor can do is trust that the killer or killers will be found before more people go missing while remembering that the darkness flees when you put your lights on…
